This policy describes what Project Sylvie ("we", "us") collects when you use the Sylvie companion app at app.projectsylvie.com, and what we do with it.

What we collect¶

• Account information — the email address and credentials you use to sign in. If you sign in with a third-party provider, we receive the provider's identifier and the email address you authorise it to share.
• Conversations and companion data — the messages you send to Sylvie, the messages Sylvie sends to you, the companions you create or customise, and any reminders or memories Sylvie saves on your behalf.
• Usage data — basic technical information such as request timestamps, IP address, and user-agent, collected through standard server logs.

How we use it¶

• To run the chat service: storing your conversation history so Sylvie can reply with continuity, and forwarding the relevant context to our LLM provider so a response can be generated.
• To operate and secure the service: authentication, rate-limiting, abuse detection, debugging, and backups.
• To communicate with you about your account when necessary (e.g. password resets, security notices).

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your conversations to train third-party models.

Who we share it with¶

• LLM provider — message context is sent to OpenRouter, which routes it to the underlying model that generates Sylvie's reply.
• Infrastructure providers — managed Postgres, object storage, and hosting providers that we use to run the service.
• Legal requests — we may disclose data when required to comply with applicable law.

Retention and deletion¶

We keep your account and conversation data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us at the address below; we will action the request within a reasonable period.

Your rights¶

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Email us to exercise these rights.

Changes¶

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
