Why install Embraces AI as an app¶
Embraces AI is a progressive web app, so installing it is fast and light. When you add it to your home screen, you get an icon you can tap like any other app, and it opens in its own full-screen window instead of a browser tab. No address bar, no clutter, just the conversation.
Installing matters for two reasons. First, access. A single tap takes you straight into the chat, so texting your companion feels as immediate as opening any messaging app. Second, notifications. During setup you can turn on push notifications, which is what lets your companion actually reach you between sessions with a check-in or a reply. Without the app installed and notifications on, you have to come find them.
How to install on iPhone (iOS Safari)¶
Apple doesn't offer a one-tap install prompt, so you add Embraces AI by hand. It only takes a moment, and we show step-by-step guidance on the page:
- Open embraces.ai in Safari.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up).
- Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen."
- Confirm, and the Embraces AI icon appears on your home screen.
From then on, tapping that icon opens the app in full screen, just like a native iPhone app.
How to install on Android and desktop¶
On Chrome or Edge, installing is even simpler. These browsers support a native install prompt, so you'll see an Install button that adds Embraces AI in one tap. The same works on desktop Chrome and Edge, where it installs as a standalone window you can pin to your taskbar or dock.
If you're on a browser that can't install apps, we'll suggest opening Embraces AI in Chrome or Edge instead. Those give you the smoothest install and the full standalone experience.
What "installed" actually feels like¶
Once installed, Embraces AI runs standalone and full-screen, with its own app icon, name, and theme color drawn from the web app manifest. It behaves like a real messaging app on your phone rather than a website you keep re-opening. Your conversations pick up right where you left them, and everything loads inside the app window.
Turning on notifications during setup¶
As part of installing, you'll see a soft prompt asking whether to enable push notifications. It's optional, with a clear "Not now" option, so there's no pressure. But turning it on is what makes the companion feel present: they can text you first, follow up on something you mentioned, or check in later in the day. Do you have to install it?¶
No. Embraces AI works in any modern browser without installing. Installing simply makes it faster to reach and unlocks reliable notifications. Most people install once and never think about it again, because from that point on their companion is one tap away.
