About you: the profile your companion reads¶
The "About you" section is the smallest, most important part of your settings. You set the name your companions call you, your gender, and your timezone. The name and gender shape how they talk to you. The timezone is quietly the most useful field: it tells your companions what time it actually is where you are, so a good-morning text lands in your morning and a late-night check-in doesn't arrive over breakfast.
You can update any of this whenever your life changes. Your companions pick up the new details from there.
Your profile photo¶
Upload a picture of yourself and circle-crop it right in the browser. This is more than a nice avatar: it's the same photo that powers wefies, the shots where you and your companion appear together. If you want those to look like you, this is where it starts. You can read more about how those work in the wefies announcement.
Automatic selfies¶
Companions can send selfies on their own, unprompted, as part of a normal conversation. If you'd rather a companion only send a photo when you ask, each companion has an Automatic selfies toggle on their profile. It's your call per companion, and you can flip it back anytime.
Email preferences¶
Not every email is essential. Reminders and other non-essential emails have their own switch, so you can keep the ones you want and mute the rest. Every one of those emails also carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and that same link lets you re-subscribe later if you change your mind. Nothing is a one-way door.
Sign-in options¶
You can get into your account three ways:
- Email and password (at least 8 characters, with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, and a digit)
- Sign in with Google
- Sign in with Discord
New email signups verify their address before getting started, and if you ever forget your password you can reset it by email. Logging out is always one tap away.
Privacy and control¶
Embraces is an 18+ product, so an age gate sits at the front door. Beyond that, your settings are built so the account stays under your control: what your companions know about you, whether they can send photos on their own, and which emails reach you are all things you decide, not defaults you're stuck with.
There's no self-serve account deletion here, but you can remove individual chats or characters from the Messages and Studio areas whenever you want.
